How to extract "Zip" files?

Extracting "Zip" files is a simple process that allows you to access the compressed contents within the Zip archive. Here's how you can do it on different operating systems:

Extracting Zip Files on Windows:

Locate the Zip File: Find the Zip file you downloaded to extract on your computer. It will have a ".zip" extension at the end of the filename.

Double-click the Zip File: By default, Windows has built-in support for Zip files. Double-click the Zip file, and a window will open displaying its contents.

Extract All Files: To extract all the files and folders from the Zip archive, click the "Extract All" button in the window's top toolbar. This will prompt you to choose a destination folder where the extracted files will be placed.

Choose Extraction Location: Browse the folder where you want to extract the files. You can either select an existing folder or create a new one. Click "Extract" to start the extraction process.

Wait for Extraction: Windows will begin extracting the files from the Zip archive to the chosen location. Once the process is complete, you can access the extracted files in the specified destination folder.

Extracting Zip Files on macOS:

Locate the Zip File: Find the Zip file you want to extract on your Mac. It will have a ".zip" extension at the end of the filename.

Double-click the Zip File: macOS also has built-in support for Zip files. Double-click the Zip file and a new folder will be created in the exact location with the same name as the Zip file containing the extracted contents.

Manually Extract Contents: If you want to extract individual files from the Zip archive without creating a new folder, you can double-click the Zip file to open it, then drag the desired files or folders to a location of your choice. This will extract the selected items to the chosen location.
